Chelan County is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington. Its population was 66,616 at the 2000 U.S. census. The county seat is Wenatchee.
History
"Chelan" derives from a Chelan Indian word meaning "deep water." Chelan County was created out of Okanogan and Kittitas Counties on March 13, 1899.
